Narberth and Whitland Rotary visited Narberth Community Primary School
on Friday to celebrate and draw attention to World Polio Day. The pupils in school assembly were told of the significance of purple in identifying up to 400 million children worldwide wide who receive the polio vaccine each year, and in mass vaccination centres have their fingers marked with a purple die. The pupils in Narberth mirrored this in the awareness day by having their “ little pinkies” painted with purple nail polish.
The picture captures some pupils showing their painted “pinkies” with the pinkie painters.
A big thank you to Head Teacher Mrs Kate Moore and staff for allowing Rotary to celebrate and raise awareness of this important day with the pupils.
